Phil joined the RAF straight from school aged 17 and served 28 years, deploying all over the world including Germany, Afghanistan, Falklands, Balkans, and both Gulf wars.
Phil Cavanagh is fresh from a 2-week break after finishing his Lands End to John O Groats Virtual walk, and is now well on his way with two new challenges;
Challenge 1 – Irish Challenge, walking Mizen to Malin (M2M), one week in and he is already well on the way, having completed 71.65 miles of 360.
Challenge 2 – Everest Challenge, climbing from the Tensing-Hilary Airport in Lukla, Nepal to the top of Mount Everest. One week in and he has already climbed 3109ft out of the 19696ft total.
There is a 6-month time limit on M2M but Phil has set himself a target of 6 weeks!
“As an ex-serviceman I wanted to raise money for a charity that would help families of those still serving or retired, particularly those suffering with mental health issues. I asked a friend who had suffered with PTSD and he suggested The Ripple Pond because of how great they had been for his own family.”
We are extremely grateful to Phil for thinking of The Ripple Pond, the charity solely relies on grants and donations to continue to support Forces families.
By donating to Phil you will be helping Forces families get the vital support they need to enable them to support their loved ones through difficult times.
