Meet the Team
TheRipplePond is a support network for the adult family members of British service personnel and veterans.
It is important as a charity that our team is great at what they do. The history of the charity is important but what we do today matters most.
The only way to provide a really supportive service is to have a team that loves what they do and truly enjoy their jobs. We are understanding of the different stories our members may be going through and are always there to lend a listening ear.
We are advocates in working with other organisations to provide a combined support service to the Forces family. Please get in touch if you would like one of us to come and speak at a networking event or if you just want to find out more about what we do.
Marketing and Communications
Becky started her career in marketing straight from A-Levels, working for various professional services firms while earning her degree. Being brought up in a military family and living on various RAF bases it was inevitable that she married into the RAF. As a military spouse Becky has a true insight into the ups and down of what supporting someone in the military can entail.
She loves all things marketing with a passion for social media. Becky is the person to go to for all things on the marketing and communication front. She is always up for raising the awareness of The Ripple Pond and sharing the stories of our members through our case studies.
Business Support Coordinator.
Karen is our member guru, she is always chatting on the phone taking calls from new members, helping to make them realise they are not alone and putting them on the right support path or with current members who are looking for extra support or just in need of a chat. Karen is always on the go both in and out of work with most of her spare time taken up cheering her two boys on at their various football matches or spending some much needed down time in their touring caravan.
Service Support Development Officer
As an army wife Katie has a great understanding of the military life and the challenges that come with it, including various house moves which has given her the opportunity to work in some really interesting roles and organisations. This variety helps Katie when thinking up new ways The Ripple Pond can support their members by offering a varied support service.
Katie works hard to ensure the service The Ripple Pond delivers meets the needs of the members. She also works with our brilliant member volunteers around the country to facilitate face to face and video meetings.
When she’s not working Katie is most likely to be found outside with her kids and dogs although she does love trying to sneak off with a good book and a bar of chocolate every now and then!
New Beneficiaries and Operations officer
Gemma has always loved to work within the charity sector and thrives on the satisfaction of helping others. If you join as a member of The Ripple Pond, Gemma may be the one you speak to you on that initial call, she is great at listening and her signposting advice is spot on! Gemma also wears the safeguarding hat for the charity, which is so important to us – making sure all our members always feel safe and the information they share with us is confidential. When Gemma isn’t in the office you can find her surrounded by her much loved chickens or out on the sea in her RIB.
